Madonna’s Girl Gone Wild

Almost thirty years after she burst onto the music scene with her dance hit, Everybody, Madonna is still throwing down the best in dance and pop music. And I’ve become absolutely OBSESSED with this video today. I really should have asked my mother for dance lessons as a kid…I’ve always wanted to dance with Madonna, especially after this video. Madonna’s latest video, Girl Gone Wild, reaches back to some of her most iconic videos of the 90′s, including Vogue and Erotica for visual and choreography inspiration. This is sure to be THE dance anthem of the summer and will have you shaking your ass on the floor ’till the daylight comes. Hit play, maximize the screen and turn this shit up!

Billboard is saying this of Madonna’s latest album, MDNA: “A collection of thoroughly pumping pop tunes, some of which are slices of sheer brilliance.”  MDNA sees Madonna reunite with William Orbit with whom she worked with on producing the Ray of Light album. So you know that means that MDNA is sure to be epic! This may just be the album to finally get me back in the club on a Saturday night shaking my ass…

MDNA will be released on March 26. And P.S., can we just mention that girlfriend is 53!

I’m devastated — in a way that is honestly shocking me. I feel so lucky to have lived in a time that allowed me to share in her gift…really there are no other words…

Dolly, Meryl and Anna OH MY!

Yesterday was Superbowl Sunday. And what a big, gay, fashion night of TV it was! We had the iconic Madonna staring in the Superbowl half-time show wearing over-the-top Givenchy, yet another incredible episode of the PBS Masterpiece Theater hit Downton Abbey, and 60 Minutes gave us an hour with the incomparable Dolly Parton, Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour. To say that my little (gay) heart was stoked would have been an understatement.

And all in all it was a night of great entertainment and inspiration. I was looking forward most to Anna’s interview with Morley Safer on 60 Minutes; however, it ended up being a re-run of 2009 interview with the Vogue editor-in-chief. Even though it was an old interview — it is always thrilling to peak inside the mind of the woman who ultimately, in many ways, runs the fashion world.

But I have a plea to perhaps the only other woman who could have made my Sunday TV viewing better, Oprah. Oprah, please interview Ms. Wintour as part of Oprah’s Next Chapter series on OWN. An in-depth hour-long (or more!) look into Ms. Wintour’s world in a way that only you could provide would be incredibly entertaining, educational, and I suspect very inspirational.

“I like people who represents the best of what they day and if that turns you into a perfectionist, then maybe I am.” – Anna Wintour

Daily Inspiration: Little Boots – Shake

Little Boots is the shit. Period. Shake is perhaps the best dance track out there right now. It seems that everything that’s been coming out of London lately is just incredible, right? London has always produced incredible artists, but there definitely seems to be a significant Brit moment happening. Music, fashion, art, comedy theater…porn (Kennedy Carter actually turned me on to Little Boots and has awesome taste in music – follow him on Twitter). All of my favorite bands right now are British: Fenech-Soler, Hurts, Little Boots, Two Door Cinema Club (okay, from Ireland technically), Monarchy, and of course the incomparable Tracey Thorn (Why Does the Wind? Morgan Geist Remix!!).

Clearly I am going through a big Anglo phase right now and just can’t get enough. More please. More.

Because the World Needs More of Rachel Zoe

The Berman Abode Dining Room 1I still can’t decide if I’m as big a fan of The Rachel Zoe Project sans Brad. Rachel and Roger are still as neurotic and entertaining as ever, but after a few episodes I just haven’t warmed up to Jeremiah (no offense, dude. I’m sure you are cool as hell.). And I’ve never been on board with team Joey. That being said, my favorite episode so far (there have only been four as of today, right?) is when Jerimiah helps Rachel furnish and style her new home. While all white is perhaps not the most practical design  for a couple with a new baby, the house is incredibly chic and beautiful (okay, so maybe I do like Jeremiah…) and you just wouldn’t expect anything else from Rachel. If you haven’t seen the episode yet or if you just want to see more if the house, never fear, Bravo has your back. Check out a photo gallery dedicated exclusively to the new Berman abode.

Anderson Cooper’s Daytime Talk Show, Anderson, Debut’s Today!

Anderson Promo ImageI’m beyond a little excited about Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show, Anderson, debut’s today! Since Oprah went off the air this past summer there has been a definite void in my life. And if it can’t be Oprah, then I can think of no other single person that I want to spend an hour a day with than Anderson.  What’s even better is the fact that we can all now spend several hours a day with Anderson between his new show, Anderson, and his show on CNN, Anderson Cooper 360. Also,  it doesn’t hurt that he is adorable as hell!

Check local channels and times here.  And check out more Anderson coverage on MD here.

Happy 53rd Birthday, Madonna!

Always an icon, girl knows how to work it!

This will be a must-read! Grace Coddington, Vogue’s Creative Director,  has reportedly sold her untitled memoir for $1.2 million to Random House. The memoir will cover everything from her childhood in England, to the ’60s fashion scene in London, and of course, tales of working with Anna Wintour.
