Here’s the problem: between Michael Bastian and J.Crew I could very likely bankrupt us come Fall. Which is why (fingers crossed) I purchased a few lotto tickets for tonight! I’ll be honest and let you know that I’ve been down right giddy in anticipation for the J.Crew show. G-I-D-D-Y.
Mickey Drexler, Jenna Lyons and Frank Muytjens have not only been delivering, but absolutely killing it season after season for quite some time now (no pressure…). There isn’t another single mass retailer today that is approaching apparel and collaborations with as much savvy or success as J.Crew. I mean, come on, today they announced a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik!
J.Crew seems to own the perfect shades of blue, purple and green these days. I fell in love with the purple jeans (must own those), the blackwatch blazer, and every single gorgeous cardigan in the collection. And with perfectly placed stripes and rope toggles Frank Muytjens let us know that nautical is firmly in place for next Fall as well (thank goodness!). And be still my beating heart — are those blue suede Alden oxfords I spy? He satisfied everything I was hoping for from J.Crew for Fall and then some.
