The Ports 1961 Fall ’12 collection is the definition of strength in point of view. Ian Hylton wanted to let shape, cut and proportion tell the story of the Ports man. And where some have critiqued the collection for its lack of color, I feel that Mr. Hylton succeeded in his vision precisely because of that restraint. The attention to beautiful shapes, precise silhouette’s, and clear detail may have been lost by added color just for the sake of color.
Isn’t it great when a designer knows when to stop? For me, this collection is perfection.
