I’m headed to New England later this week and have been thinking about what I’ll bring. I’m trying to only pack carry-on. There is nothing worse than sitting at a baggage carousel after a cross-country flight (or any flight for that matter). Nothing. It is, of course, expected to be quite cold, but I’ve decided that I don’t want to bring a big bulky winter coat as I’ll only be dashing about and not spending any great amount of time outside. So this trip is going to be all about essential layers, a few oxfords, a light cashmere v-neck, a heavy gauge knit cardigan, a great tailored wool blazer, and a puffer vest. And because it is New England, there will be the obligatory flannel. Combined with a great scarf or two and I should be good to go.
