Odin New York in the West Village

Odin New York opened their third location at the end of September in the West Village.  And The New York Times, and WWD, among others, have gone crazy for the store.  We’re all about great menswear and great retail experiences — and judging by the pix and reviews, Odin doesn’t look to disappoint.

Odin’s owners told WWD they went out of their way to make sure the store fit the location (quoted via Racked NY): “owners Eddie Chai and Paul Birardi were careful to make sure the new space fit in with the neighborhood, scouring eBay and Craigslist for antiques and stocking the store according to locals’ needs. ‘Every neighborhood has a different need, and the customers here want the basic essentials,’ Chai said, ‘toothpaste, socks, cotton T-shirts, things you can’t find all that easily in the West Village.’ The place retains a distinctly Odinish appeal, though, carrying labels like Woolrich, Phillip Lim, and Florsheim by Duckie Brown.”

The Times went so far as to say it’ll revitalized the West Village: “Full of wearable, subtly hip men’s clothing, it’s like planting a big healthy pine tree in a dying forest.”
