Rugby Scores

While shopping in Rugby this past weekend for some gifts (and yet another bag for myself – recycled sail bag), the sales associate mentioned that they were going e-commerce.  And it’s true, according to The Inside Center (Rugby’s blog), “Happily, we can finally substantiate the rumors: We are super psyched to announce the relaunch of Rugby.com as an e-commerce (read: shoppable) Web site! Beginning mid-August, you will be able to shop your favorite looks on Rugby.com, as well as watch our style videos, learn about our social action partnerships and check out the new-and-improved blog.”

Go forth and be collegiate….

Traffic

Apparently the key to traffic is Tom Ford (but then again, isn’t he the key to everything?!). So, perhaps a few gratuitous posts each week on Mr. Ford are in order. What can I say, I am addicted to traffic and I’ll get it any way I can. And this is a pretty damn good way.  Mr. Ford, if you are out there reading this (my heart be still)….consider yourself stalked.

Longing

I’m an east coast boy at heart. I’ve lived out here for four years now, but I still feel the tug on my soul from Manhattan. It’s the truly gorgeous San Francisco days, like today, that make me yearn for NYC summer. Don’t get me wrong, San Fran is great and is home. But someday, I hope to once again be an east coast boy. I guess I’m just in a “New York state of mind.”

Slick

Jcrew is previewing the fall collection (woohoo!). And I am quite excited about a number of items, in particular this must have, the Newport Slicker. The coat is not available until September, but you can preorder! Love it.

Half-Life

Went to SFMoMA today and saw the fabulous exhibit, Half-Life of a Dream: Contemporary Chinese Art from the Logan Collection.  This show is definitely worth a trip.

Patently Simple

Last week while in the Marina shopping with my boyfriend and his mother I found my next obsession. Neil Barrett black patent leather loafers. And once I saw my soon to be mother in-law’s disaproving look, I knew I had to have them. So, with my mother in-law safely back in L.A., I went to the Marina today to pick up my new shoes. Unfortunately, I missed the $500 price tag last week. Now, its not that I am opposed to $500 shoes. But $500 loafers? Mmmm, no. But now I am more obsessed than ever. I want these shoes. They would look fab with a classic pair of slim-cut chinos and a black v-neck (90′s chic?).

So now I am on a mission. Simple, classic, black patent leather loafers. Patently simple, no? Apparently harder than one would think…..

Tom Ford = 007

This makes complete sense. Tom Ford will be dressing Bond in the next 007 flick due out in November. Ford, who launched his menswear line just over a year ago has seen enormous success in menswear with his classic, masculine and sexy approach to the mens suit. It’s only fitting that this now iconic, hyper- masculine, hyper-sexy designer dress the iconic hyper-masculine, hyper-sexy international spy. I’ve always been a big 007 fan, and this year I’ll have even more reason to be there on opening night.

Little Black Dress

Today I found a little black dress. No, not for me. My gorgeous and sweet sister, Sarah (17), is in town from Virginia for a visit. And of course, within hours of her stepping off the plane I had her out shopping. After a fun stop in the Marc Jacobs store on Filmore Street, we headed down to a great new find (for me), Elizabeth Charles. This store is a gem, and is all about amazing pieces (with fantastic attention to structure and silhouette). We quickly found her first “Little Black Dress.” It is simply stunning, and she looked so grown up and chic. I was very proud! This shop is definitely worth a peek.

UPDATE! Tom Ford for Prez t-shirt

We’ve had success!!!! Soon, this much sought after T will be winging its way to San Francisco. Many thanks to Megan for all of her help. Pics to come.

Also, check out THIS site for more on Logan Neitzel, who designed the T with Blayne. His site is still in progress, but a good way to reach him.

Gay and the Beach

This has to be one of my most favorite articles of the summer. I’m not sure who Mike Albo is, but I think we’d get a long, he seems like my kinda guy. Simply put, this witty, well written article is a must read. I’ve already sent it along to several friends who I know could use the help. Thanks, Mike. Yet another reason why I love the New York Times.
